2) Conservation of Museum exhibits and archival holdings

 

1993-2009

  • conservation of  approximately 40 thousand negatives of photographs of former prisoners (contact prints), including cleaning and making duplicates

 

1994

  • conservation of  113 wicker baskets, 77 wooden clogs, 2 camp signs, and wooden carvings

 

1995

  • anti-insect treatment of camp furniture and the conservation of  134 prints and paintings from the Museum collections

 

1996

  • purchase of camera for microfilming
  • purchase of alarm system for the Museum archives building
  • purchase of several computers

  

1997

  • purchase of ultrasound splicer for microfilms

  

1998

  • photocopying of microfilms containing records of Auschwitz Concentration Camp held in archives in Moscow

 

2001

  • purchase of dehumidifier for the premises of the Collections Department

 

2001-2002

  • development of technology for the conservation of original toothbrushes from the camp

 

2005

  • purchase of Restauro microscope with accessories (for the conservation workshop)
  • purchase of specialist vacuum cleaner for the central cleaning system for items in the conservation workshop

 

2007

  • purchase of Nikon microscope with accessories for the conservation workshop

 

2009

  • financing the purchase of a server for the Digital Repository

 

 

3) Since 1993 the Foundation has financed outlays connected with the landscape maintenance of nearly 200 hectares under the protection of the Auschwitz Museum
